Family Entrepreneurs
The son of a former Pritchard mayor has been named an executive with a Washington, D.C. area real estate development and property management company.

Our family member! Daryl Smith has been named chief marketing officer of Kettler. His father was John Smith, who served as Prichard's mayor from 1980 through 1988. A graduate of Blount High School, he is the son of Barbara Wheat.

Daryl is the great great grandson of Edmond & Peggy Margaret Jackson Jones.

Smith has 17 years of multifamily marketing experience and served as national director of marketing for one of the largest property management firms in the U.S. He also worked in public television in Virginia, the District of Columbia and Wisconsin.

"Daryl is joining us at an exciting and crucial time of growth," said Robert C. Kettler, the company's founder and CEO. "It is vital to have someone with his capabilities and range of experience to make sure that the message we present to the world reflects the quality of our properties and our commitment to innovation."

Smith is a graduate of Southern University and received a masters' degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin before moving to Washington, D.C., where he now lives.
